Myofascial release is a whole-body hands-on approach that restores elasticity into the connective tissue web to alleviate physical and emotional pain and discomfort. Deep yet gentle sustained stretching techniques, elongate the deep layers of connective tissue restoring balance and improved structural alignment of the body. Fascia is a seamless web of connective tissue that covers and connects the muscles, organs, nerves, veins and skeletal structures in our body. The release of fascial restrictions frees the bodies system from their tight grip so that authentic healing becomes possible and the body is able to function they way it’s supposed to.
Fascial restrictions can be caused by injuries and trauma, repetitive strain, post surgical and injury scaring, chronic holding patterns related to stress and so on. In fact they can be an underlying factor for many types of physical dysfunction.
